Belonging

My urge for belonging is strong,
but my longing for freedom is stronger. 
Still, when watching the sky, 
I do have the feeling that I’ve to trail the cloud,
light as a feather, drifting, purposeless.

The wind that carries my dreams is getting calmer with age,
but even more determined never to stop for sheer belonging’s sake.
